President Biden Criticism, Israeli Right Wing Minister Ben-Gvir: If Trump Takes Power, US Actions Will Be Different

JAKARTA - National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir strongly criticized the way the United States Government under Joe Biden handled the war in Gaza, accusing him of benefiting Hamas and arguing Israel would be better off dealing with Donald Trump.

"Instead of giving us full support, (President Joe) Biden is busy providing humanitarian and fuel assistance, which is distributed to Hamas," Ben Gvir said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal published on Sunday, quoted from The Times of Israel February 4.

"If Trump came to power, the US action would be very different," he said.

The comments of the right-wing minister, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, publicly thanked US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and the Biden Administration "for their efforts to seek a framework for the return of Israeli hostages, for their commitment to Israel's security, and their leadership in strengthening security in the Middle East region".

It is known, since the Hamas group's aggressive attack on October 7, President Biden's Administration has accelerated the sale of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of ammunition to Israel, without conducting a Congressional review.

On the other hand, the White House also prompted Jerusalem to allow more aid to reach Gazans, reportedly considering the use of weapons supply as an influence to pressure Israel to reduce the number of casualties. the intensity of its operations in the Gaza Strip.

This approach, coupled with the government's criticism of the repeated calls by Ben-Gvir to Israel to encourage "voluntary emigration" of the Gaza Strip residents, has sparked the minister's anger, thus making him recently declare that Israel is "not another star in the American flag."
