Getting Gontor Islamic Boarding School Alumni Support, Anies: We Accept It As A Trust

JAKARTA - The extended family of the Pondok Modern Gontor Alumni Association (IKPM) throughout Indonesia together with alumni of Gontor forums have declared their support for candidate pairs (AMIN) to win the 2024 presidential election.

The declaration was made by IKPM chairman Gontor Branch throughout Indonesia, Gontor Alumni Islamic Boarding School (FPAG) which oversees 1200 Gontor Alumni Islamic boarding schools throughout Indonesia, Muballighin Alumni Gontor Forum (FMAG), Business Forum (FORBIS) Gontor Alumni Entrepreneurs Association, Alumni Gontor Sports Forum (FORDA), and the Alumni Gontor Art Workers Forum (ForCreator).

Responding to this support, presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan said support from the Alumni Family of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor was a positive energy to carry out the mandate in solving national problems.

"We accept this as a mandate, as a trust, please pray for istikamah, to be able to carry out this mandate sincerely," said Anies, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 3.

Anies, who has a background as a santri, expressed his gratitude for the support from the alumni of the Gontor Islamic Boarding School.

He also asked for guidance and advice to be able to carry out the mandate in undergoing the 2024 election contest, because the pesantren has a strong ideology and militancy.

"I thank you. I feel very grateful that the burden and responsibility imposed on our shoulders are assisted, carried by all of the kiai," said Anies.

Meanwhile, vice presidential candidate number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar admitted that he was very impressed with the Gontor Islamic Boarding School which had given birth to alumnus who played a major role in people's lives.

According to Muhaimin, curriculum science taught at Gontor Islamic Boarding School is a strong asset for its alumni to play a role in the lives of society, nation and state; including the values of courage, honesty, and sincerity in fighting to uphold the truth.

"As a student who has, although not long being trained at Pondok Modern Gontor, I am very very, very proud, grateful and grateful, thank you very much," said the man who is familiarly called Cak Imin.
