SERANG - Muslik (55), who was reportedly thrown into a river in Sentul Village, Kragilan District, Serang Regency, after being a victim of a hit-and-run on Thursday (1/2), was found dead.

Head of the Banten Search and Rescue Office, Adil Triyanto, said the victim was found in a river by a joint team about 10 kilometers from the location of the hit-and-run incident.

"The search on the second day the victim was found dead 10 kilometers from the crash-and-run location," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 2.

Adil said that with the discovery of the victim, the search operation was declared complete and his party had withdrawn its members. The victim has also been taken to the funeral home for burial.

The victim is a resident of Badak Jaya Village, Kragilan, Serang Regency, Banten.

The unfortunate incident happened to the victim on Thursday (1/2) in the morning at 05.24 WIB while walking to pull his cart on the edge of the river in the Sentul area, Kragilan, Serang, Banten.

At the same time, a Honda Scoopy motorcycle with police number A 5436 HM driven by Mamung (68) suddenly hit the victim's cart. As a result, the victim bounced into the river until it was dragged by the current and disappeared.

Knowing this incident, local residents also reported to the local police and coordinated with the Banten BPBD team and Basarnas to look for victims.

In that incident, the motorcyclist was injured and was taken to the clinic by local residents, while his vehicle had been secured at the Serang Police Station.
