Kodam VI Mulawarman Alerts Combat Soldiers To Help Security The 2024 Election

BALIKPAPAN - Regional Military Command (Kodam) VI/Mulawarman alerted combat soldiers to assist in securing the implementation of the general election (election) on February 14, 2024.

As many as 6,000 soldiers were alerted to secure the election, said Kodam (Pangdam) VI/Mulawarman Commander Major General TNI Tri Budi Utomo, from the Kodam level, military resort command (korem), military district command (kodim), and military rayon command (Koramil).

A total of 25 Kodim and 192 Koramil in the territory of Kodam VI/Mulawarman covering the provinces of South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and North Kalimantan.

"We are also alerting soldiers from combat units (satpur) and combat assistance units (satbanpur)," he said.

380 combat soldiers have been alerted as troops under operational control (BKO) to the Kodim and Koramil who are considered to lack village supervisory officers (babinsa).

The BKO troops were alerted to anticipate the development of unwanted situations in all polling stations (TPS).

Overall, he said, soldiers involved in election security have carried out health checks. Those soldiers who were prepared waited for time to enter the security point.

"6,000 soldiers who have been prepared will go to the field three days before the election, except for 380 people who work in certain areas," he said.

Kodam VI/Mulawarman also deployed a number of defense equipment to support security and assist the process of distributing election logistics to locations that are difficult to reach.

"The vulnerability of disasters and delays, so we mobilize vehicles to ensure that election logistics can arrive on time," he said.

Cars that can become public kitchens and ambulances are divided into three areas prepared, soldiers and defense equipment on standby to assist the police in securing the 2024 General Election.
