JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has again responded to the statement by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD who wants to resign from the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. This was conveyed during a working visit in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java, Thursday 1 February. "Yes, that is the right and I really appreciate it," said Jokowi to reporters. Jokowi also admitted that he had made a letter of resignation to be submitted to President Jokowi as soon as the meeting was determined. "Today I have brought a letter to be submitted directly to the President, regarding my political future. This letter will be submitted as soon as I get a schedule to meet the President, but I will continue to bring it because as I am given this letter as soon as I am given time, I immediately submit this letter," he said.

Mahfud considered it important to find the right time to directly submit his resignation as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to the president. The reason is because he was appointed by Jokowi as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs with honor and trust. "I was trusted by him seriously and I also trusted him to assign me, so I worked carefully and God willing, both in the last four and a half years. God willing, it will be good," he said.
