TNI Salaries Raised By President, House Of Representatives Commission I Hopes Soldiers Also Get Office Houses

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Meutya Hafid, is happy that the salaries of TNI soldiers will increase from 2024. He also hopes that President Jokowi will also increase other welfare improvements, for example providing a decent official residence for TNI soldiers.

"The increase in salaries of TNI soldiers shows President Jokowi's attention to the welfare of soldiers. Commission I of the DPR hopes that the increase in salaries will be followed by the improvement of the welfare of other TNI soldiers, such as Pauk Lauk Money and a proper official house for TNI soldiers," Meutya Hafid told reporters, Wednesday, January 31.

The Golkar legislator for the North Sumatra electoral district (North Sumatra) ensures that the DPR will continue to fight for the welfare of soldiers by supporting the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and the TNI Commander in an effort to prosper soldiers. "Especially, in the field of increasing income, education, housing, health services for soldiers and their family members, and old age security," he said.

Because according to him, the improvement in the welfare of the TNI is directly proportional to the development of TNI professionalism. This also intersects with strengthening national defense. "After all, the strong TNI must certainly be prosperous," said Meutya.

It is known that President Joko Widodo raised the basic salary of the TNI and Polri from the lowest to the highest rank.

This is stated in Government Regulation Number 6 of 2024 concerning the Thirteenth Amendment to Government Regulation Number 28 of 2001 concerning Regulations on Salaries of TNI Members.
