Presidential Candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo asked the public to be patient with the cawapres decision, Mahfud MD, who is rumored to be resigning from his position as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam).

This was conveyed by Ganjar in response to the circulation of the news that Mahfud would announce his resignation today, Wednesday, January 31. The information has also been widely circulated in a number of news groups.

"We'll be waiting for it soon," said Ganjar to reporters in Pontianak, Wednesday, January 31.

Ganjar said he appreciated his partner's intention. Moreover, Mahfud resigned to reduce the potential for abuse of force.

"If we discussed with Mr. Mahfud, I appreciate that he has very high integrity and he has that desire," he said.

"And if the decision will be taken within hours, I am a respectful person, with respect to him, Mr. Mahfud. Hopefully others can also participate," continued the former Governor of Central Java.

As previously reported, Mahfud MD stated that he would resign from his position as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs when speaking at the 'Tabrak Prof!' on Tuesday, January 23. This attitude was taken to prevent conflicts of interest.

"At the right time, we will definitely submit a good resignation," Mahfud said in a YouTube live broadcast Mahfud MD Official.

Mahfud emphasized that this resignation had indeed been discussed with his presidential candidate pair, Ganjar Pranowo. Suggestions were also given by the former Governor of Central Java.

However, he could not immediately apply for resignation because he had to finish his job. So, Mahfud waited for the right momentum.

"What Pak Ganjar said to the public this afternoon was my agreement with Pak Ganjar from the start," said Mahfud.
