Indonesian Embassy Kuala Lumpur Guards The Murder Case Of Indonesian Citizens In Petaling Jaya

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Kuala Lumpur participated in overseeing the alleged murder of a woman Indonesian citizen (WNI) in Mentari Village, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The Coordinator of the Social and Cultural Affairs Function of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Yoshi Iskandar, confirmed that the woman who was found dead was an Indonesian citizen.

The Indonesian Embassy, according to Yoshi, has been able to contact the families of the victims in Indonesia and convey the autopsy process needed on the victim's body for investigation purposes.

The Malaysian Police conducted an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and for further investigation purposes. Therefore, the victim's body has not been returned to Indonesia.

The police also have not been able to find out the motive behind the alleged murder of the migrant worker from East Java, Yoshi said. Several Indonesian citizens who rented the same unit as the victim were also questioned as witnesses.

In a media statement, Petaling Jaya Police Chief Mohd Fakhrudin Abd Hamid happened to say the Petaling Jaya Regional Police station received a call from Mers 999 on Monday (29/1) at around 06.30 local time from a local man who informed him that he found an unknown woman whose ethnicity was unconscious near the stairs of Mentari's apartment in the Mentari Village area, Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya.

He said the Forensic Division of the D10 Police Station of Selangor, the medical team of Sungai Buloh Hospital and assisted by a pathology team from the Malaya University Medical Center was assigned to come to the scene.

From the examination of the body of the female victim, about 19 years old, according to him, there were wounds on the neck, chest and hands.

He said the case was classified as murder and was being investigated under Article 302 of the Criminal Code.
