Anies Wants To Meet Workers And Entrepreneurs To Discuss The Mechanism Of Increased UMP

JAKARTA - Presidential candidate Anies Baswedan wants to position workers and employers together to discuss increasing the provincial minimum wage (UMP) for the welfare of workers.

In the Desak & Slepet AMIN event, Anies said that every year in October the UMP of workers debate always strengthens.

Labor and even entrepreneurs, according to him, both do not like this condition without certainty. However, it must continue to live it. Meanwhile, the state seemed to let the situation go.

"We have to sit together, seriously sit down together. At the national leadership level, we regulate this so that it does not cause uncertainty every year and there must be derivatives," Anies said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.

According to Anies, it should not only be crowded about the UMP because it is only the beginner level. After that, wages should have increased.

"So, we see, one, sitting with workers, entrepreneurs, that we are making a mechanism to be regulated throughout Indonesia and across time," he said.

Anies said it was impossible for his party to make one rule for all the same places because in the end there would be variations. This is considering the different cost of living.

However, Anies said that in the future everyone will have a handle. Calculation of wages is not only the UMP, but also post-UMP so that after work there must be a continuous increase.

"We imagine that this calculation of multi-years involves the first workers, the second entrepreneur, experts, labor experts, then the most important thing is the involvement of cross-regional elements," he said.

Anies said the UMP benchmark should not only be workers from Jakarta, Surabaya, and its surroundings, but also throughout Indonesia and other elements so that the results reflect conditions throughout Indonesia.
