Duel With Daniel Dubois, Anthony Joshua's Career Is Threatened

JAKARTA The career of former world champion Anthony Joshua is in danger of being difficult to rebuild if he loses against Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title.

The two fighters are scheduled to board the ring in the main event at Wembley Stadium, England, on Sunday, September 22 at 04.45 WIB. They have also held a weighted session for the match at Trafalgar Square, London.

In the session, Dubois, who was not seeded in tomorrow's duel, received cheers from the audience. This is the biggest duel in Dubois' career and can end Joshua's career at the highest level.

On that occasion, Joshua reminded Dubois of his big ambition in this fight, which if he loses then his career in boxing can be completed.

"I see myself as aployee and I will step into tomorrow's arena to perform for people who like to see blood, guts and glory. I am excited and I am ready to appear for people," Joshua said of his ambition.

If successful in winning then 34-year-old Joshua has plans to fight Tyson Fury. Fury is currently also preparing for a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.

However, if he lost to the IBF champion on the chance to defend his first title then Joshua's career would be difficult to rebuild.

The defeat in this duel was considered far worse for Joshua than his two consecutive defeats against Usyk which made him miss the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.

On the other hand, Dubois also stated that he was ready to enter the ring to meet Joshua. The 27-year-old fighter did not seem intimidated by his opponent at all.

"We have worked hard. All I can say is that I am ready to fight. A lot of work has been done for this. I am ready to start. The conversation has been completed," he said.

In the course of his career so far, Dubois has recorded two defeats to the 23 fights he has fought. Of the number of duels, 20 of them were knockouts.

On the other hand, Joshua has played 31 fights with a record of three defeats. In that period he scored 25 KO wins and only three of them went through a decision.
