JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a national weather forecast for Monday, January 29, 2024. Forecaster Syndhy Indah Pratiwi said that the majority of major cities in the country are predicted to experience light, moderate rain, and rain accompanied by lightning.

On the island of Sumatra, light rain is predicted to occur in the cities of Tanjung Pinang, Padang, Jambi, Pangkalpinang, Bengkulu, and Bandar Lampung. Rain is moderate in Banda Aceh City, and the weather is foggy in Pekanbaru and Palembang cities.

"On the island of Java, light rain occurs in the cities of Jakarta and Semarang. Rain is in Serang and Yogyakarta, while rain is accompanied by lightning in the cities of Bandung and Surabaya," said Syndhy, Monday, January 29.

On the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, light rain will flush the cities of Denpasar, Mataram and Kupang.

On the island of Kalimantan, the weather is cloudy in the cities of Tanjung Selor and Samarinda. Light rain in Palangkaraya City, and rain accompanied by lightning in Pontianak City and Banjarmasin.

On the island of Sulawesi, light rain in the cities of Manado, Gorontalo, Mamuju, Palu and Makassar. While the rain is in Kendari City.

In the Maluku Islands and Papua, light rain in Ambon and Manokwari cities. Rain is in Ternate and Jayapura cities.

In addition, the air temperature in big cities in the country ranges from 18 to 33 degrees Celsius, with humidity between 55 to 100 percent.
