After Retiring, President Jokowi Was Invited To Tanzania As A Tourist

JAKARTA - President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan invited President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to travel to his country as a tourist after he was no longer the head of state.

"After you retire, I hope you can visit Tanzania as a tourist to visit our tourist attractions directly," said President Samia when ending her speech on the sidelines of a visit to the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Thursday, January 25, which was confiscated by Antara.

Samia admitted that she was very happy to welcome Jokowi back to Tanzania, with his status as a tourist or tourist, after retiring as the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I would be very happy to welcome you," he said.

On that occasion, Samia also thanked him for the opportunity to advance extraordinary relations for Indonesia-Tanzania's progress.

"I want to thank you for your invitation to me to visit this beautiful country," he said.

As is known, President Jokowi visited Tanzania for the first time as President in August 2023. Apart from Tanzania, Jokowi also visited Kenya, Mozambique, and South Africa.

Tanzania has also opened its embassy in Jakarta as a commitment of the two countries to continue to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia.

During a meeting between President Jokowi and President Samia at the Bogor Presidential Palace, a number of collaborations were discussed in order to strengthen the friendship between the two countries, ranging from cooperation in the trade, investment, green energy sector to equalizing perceptions to support the Palestinian struggle.
