JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi emphasized that Israel must be held responsible for its actions in the Gaza Strip, saying no country is above the law, with Indonesia set to deliver an oral statement at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) next month.
"Israel must be responsible for its actions, including the atrocities in Gaza," stressed Foreign Minister Retno," in a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wednesday, January 24.
"No country is above the law," she stressed.
It is known that Israel was complained by South Africa to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on charges of genocide in Gaza, violating the 1948 genocide convention.
"Next month, Indonesia will submit an Oral Statement to the ICJ Opinion Advisor which will be submitted to the court based on the mandate of the General Assembly," said Foreign Minister Retno.
"Indonesia will take all means to support Palestine," she stressed.
Indonesia itself had previously submitted written input to the ICJ. Meanwhile, oral views will be presented on February 19.
