JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute released the findings of a national survey of law enforcement agencies in the country, where the Prosecutor's Office is the only legal institution that has received an increase in the level of trust from the public.

"Among law enforcement agencies, only the prosecutor's office has increased public trust," said lead researcher Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi when presenting the results of the survey "A Level of Public Trust in Law Enforcement and Politics" reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 23.

Burhanuddin explained that the level of public trust in the Prosecutor's Office reached 76.2 percent.

Then, under the Prosecutor's Office there are the National Police and courts with a public confidence level of 75 percent. Meanwhile, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is at the lowest with a confidence level of 70 percent.

According to Burhanuddin, the high public trust in the Prosecutor's Office cannot be separated from the many corruption cases handled.

According to him, the Prosecutor's Office continues to show the public it is committed to eradicating corruption in Indonesia.

In addition, the Prosecutor's Office is in third place as the law institution most trusted by the public, under the TNI and the president.

Based on the findings of the Indonesian Political Indicators research, as many as 10 percent of the survey respondents stated that they really believed in the Prosecutor's Office and 66 percent said they believed enough.

"Only 18 percent do not believe it," said Burhanuddin.

According to Burhanuddin Muhtadi, the performance of the Attorney General's Office in the era of Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin managed to overtake other legal institutions in achieving the level of public trust.

Previously, the Adhyaksa Corps was often the caretaker. This happened two or three years ago, where the KPK previously achieved the highest ranking.

The survey on the national findings of Indonesian Political Indicators used the multistage random sampling method, involving a base sample of 1,200 people from all provinces who were proportionally distributed.
