TPSA Mekarsari Is Not Ready Yet, Cianjur Regency Government Sets Waste Emergency Status

JABAR - The Cianjur Regency Government (Pemkab) has declared a waste emergency status for the next 14 days due to the Pasirsembung Final Waste Disposal Site (TPSA) that has exceeded capacity.

TPSA Pasirsembung has now changed its function to Green Open Space (RTH). Meanwhile, the new TPSA, namely TPSA Mekarsari, still cannot be used.

"The Pasirsembung RTH should not be able to accommodate waste, but the Mekarsasi TPSA is not ready to operate, so while the garbage is still accommodated at the front of the Pasirsembung RTH," said Regional Assistant (Asda) II of the Cianjur Regional Secretariat Budi Rahayu Toyib in Cianjur Tuesday, January 23, confiscated by Antara.

Meanwhile, the available land can only accommodate waste for a few days, so that it determines the emergency status of waste until the new TPSA in Cikalongkulon District can be operated in early February 2024.

Each sub-district and market are asked to carry out independent waste processing as long as the waste emergency status is enforced, so that there is no massive delivery of waste to Pasirsembung green open space.

"Currently, the construction of the road to TPSA Mekarsari is accelerated so that it operates immediately, because there is already a winner and can be built immediately. We hope that the new TPSA February can be used," he said.

For the construction of a 900-meter road to TPSA Mekarsari, a budget of around Rp. 800 million has been prepared, he said, so that road construction is targeted to be completed before the waste emergency response period ends.

During the process of accelerating development, he continued, waste will be forced to be accommodated at the Pasirsembung TPAS, even though the remaining land is only a few tens of meters. Meanwhile, the Cianjur Environment Agency (DLH) during the waste emergency status will propose a budget shift.

"If there is still a shortage, the Cianjur Regency Government will use the Unexpected Cost (BTT) budget, including the shift in the budget between agencies that DLH is proposing to the Cianjur Regency Government," he said.
