Defense Minister Prabowo Inaugurates 15 Water Source Points In Bangkalan

BANGKALAN - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto has inaugurated 15 clean water sources in Bangkalan, Madura Island, East Java, whose benefits are currently received by 3,554 family heads.

Prabowo also praised experts from the Water Task Force (Satgas) of the Defense University (IDU), the Ministry of Defense's fostered campus, who continue to work hard to find clean water sources for residents who have water difficulties, including in Bangkalan.

"This is very proud of me. For that, I would like to thank the rector of the Defense University, to the dean, vice chancellor, all technicians and all officers from the Defense University who worked hard non-stop for 2 years," Prabowo said during the inauguration ceremony at the Al Anwar Islamic Boarding School in Bangkalan, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 23.

A total of 15 water sources in Bangkalan have been found by the Water Defense Task Force and have been used by residents in the Trunojoyo University area, Telang Village, Kamal District.

Sambi Hamlet, Kendaban Village, Tanah Merah District; Kelbung Hamlet, Kelbung Village, Galis District.

Nunggunong Hamlet,rah Village, Blega District; Ponpes Al Anwar, Kedungdung Hamlet, Patereman, Mudong; and Lepelle Hamlet, Lepele Village, Robatal District.

Then the water points are also in Durbuk Hamlet, Bringin Village, Tambelangan District; Semampir Hamlet, Kedungdung Village, Kedungdung District.

Gunung Kesan Hamlet, Gunung Kesan Village, Karang Penang District; Ponpes Al Mubarok Lembulen, Takben Hamlet, Panyepen Village, Jrengik District; Talaga Hamlet, Karang Nangka Village, Rubaru District.

Ponpes Al Madina, Klampok Hamlet, West Rombia Village, Ganding District; Candi Hamlet, Badur Village, Batu Putih District; Tenggina Hamlet, Batang-batang Jaya Village, Batang-batang District; and An Najah Islamic Boarding School, Blajud Hamlet, Kardulik Village, Pragaan District.

At the same location, Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Elestianto Dardak expressed his gratitude for the Defense University community service program as well as to Defense Minister Prabowo.

"The presence of the Ministry of Defense, of course, in providing water sources, is an extraordinary gift for all of us. Thank you once again, and hopefully in a few years we will see Madura who is greener, Madura whose people are smiling, Madura who say wayahe Madura is feeling progress," said Emil.

Since 2023, the Water Defense Task Force has found more than 100 water sources spread across various regions of the country, including Lombok and Sumbawa (West Nusa Tenggara), Moa Island ( Southwest Maluku), Gunung Kidul and Bantul (D. I. Yogyakarta), Banten, Pamekasan and Bangkalan (Pulau Madura, East Java), Banyumas, Blora, Boyolali, Kendal, Purworejo (Central Java), Kuningan, Sukabumi, and Bogor (West Java) districts.

In an effort to find the water source, the Defense University Water Task Force used a geoelectric test method, which according to Prabowo, the technology is almost similar to the seismic test method for oil. Prabowo said the accuracy of the geoelectric test was almost 100 percent.

The next stage, after the water point was found, the Air Defense Task Force drilled underground by utilizing the hole drilling technology, which is believed to be effective in issuing water in various terrains, starting from land, hills, and coastal areas.

Then, not only providing assistance with bore wells, the Air Defense Task Force also provided pipeline assistance to channel water from the source to residents' homes.
