Sukabumi Fishing Boat Hit By Waves To Terombang-babble In Sumadara Indies, One Person Disappeared

SUKABUMI - A fishing boat that was looking for fish in the Ujunggenteng Tengah Sea, Sukabumi, West Java was hit by waves and sank causing four fishermen to be adrift in the sea waters of the Indian Ocean.

Of the four fishermen, three were rescued but another one is still missing.

"Of the four fishermen, three people were rescued, but another one is missing and is still being searched," Sukabumi Police Head of Polairud AKP Tenda Sukendar reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 22.

Information gathered from the Sukabumi Police Satpolairud stated that four fishermen from Ujunggenteng Village, Ciracang District, known as Deden (27), Hadsur (54), Deris (43), and Sulaeman (33) sailed from Ujunggenteng Beach to search for fish in the middle of the Indian Ocean sea waters, precisely at coordinates 07 - 41 -91 -S /107 -19 -08 E.

The motorboat with the name HDR hull departed on Friday (19/1) morning. Initially, the weather from the departure site to the coordinate point was quite sunny. However, at around 15.00 WIB the weather in the middle of the sea turned bad.

Strong winds accompanied by heavy rain plus sea waves made it difficult for the captain, namely Hadsur, to control his ship. Not long after, a high wave immediately destroyed the motorboat.

The captain and three crew members (ABK) immediately jumped into the sea and were carried to the sea waters of the Lampung area. While adrift in the middle of the sea.

These fishermen can only survive by using buoys and hugging styrofoam, wood, and floating items.

Three victims namely Hadsur, Deris, and Sulaeman managed to reunite, while Deden was separated from his colleagues. These fishermen tried to pull over to the ground with the rest of their energy, but to no avail due to high wave conditions.

Then, in the midst of uncertain expectations, passing KM MV Martha Baruna from PT Bahtera Adhiguna in the waters of the Lampung Sea on Saturday (20/1) at around 17.00 WIB. The three victims were successfully evacuated onto the ship, but unfortunately Deden disappeared in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

"The three victims who were rescued have returned to their hometowns, for now we are with the joint SAR team from Sukabumi Regency in coordination with the SAR team in South Lampung still searching for one victim who disappeared after the incident," he said.

Tenda said the Sukabumi Police Satpolairud in collaboration with the South Lampung Beach Harbormaster in handing over the three fishermen who were rescued as well as coordinating in the search for one fisherman who is still missing.sun
