The Body Of A Woman Wrapped In Seprai In Cirebon Is Confirmed By A Murder Victim, A Motive For Heartache

CIREBON - Satreskrim Cirebon Police, West Java, revealed the case of finding the body of a woman found wrapped in a fabric in the Susukan District river, Cirebon, Wednesday (10/1).

Cirebon Police Chief Kombes Sumarni said the woman's body with the initials OP (20) was a murder victim with the main perpetrator with the initials MM (20).

From the results of the examination of witnesses and investigations, MM was proven to have abused the victim to death.

The police chief revealed that the perpetrator deliberately threw the victim's body into the river in Susukan District.

"At that time, a body was found wrapped in a cloth and tied up. It was found by the community, then reported to the nearest police station. We processed the scene of the case, then examined witnesses and conducted further investigations," he explained as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 22.

Currently, the perpetrator is in the Cirebon Police Headquarters detention cell to undergo further legal proceedings.

Based on the perpetrator's confession, the motive for the murder crime was triggered by feelings of jealousy and hurt.

"The perpetrator was jealous and hurt. The perpetrator and the victim were husband and wife. The results of the investigation revealed that the incident began on January 7, 2024 at the victim's house," he said.

The perpetrator fled to Kuta, Bali, with the excuse of looking for work in the area. However, the perpetrator was finally arrested on Monday (15/1).

"The perpetrators were charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of life imprisonment," he said.
