TKN Ensures Prabowo-Gibran Will Strengthen Seafarers' Rights Through Law

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Eddy Soeparno, stated that the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, will fight for and strengthen the rights of national sailors through the law.

This was conveyed by Eddy when receiving support from the Indonesian Seafarers Movement at Prabowo Subianto's residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday, January 19.

Eddy said that sailors are one aspect of community elements that are of concern to Prabowo-Gibran. Because, according to him, sailors are Indonesian workers who are very productive and need special skills.

The aspirations of sailors, he continued, must be fought for through political movements and are not enough just to be called through demonstrations. For that, he said, strengthening their rights is needed through regulations on legal provisions and laws.

"So later, when Pak Prabowo and Mas Gibran get the mandate to lead this country, of course we will continue this mandate and then we will make a law that has partiality and strengthens the rights of colleagues from the movement of Indonesian sailors," said Eddy.

The Deputy Chairman of Commission VII from the PAN faction confirmed that he would fight for the aspirations of the sailors through a hearing (RDP) and a meeting to discuss the law in the DPR. In order to provide legal certainty for the rights of Indonesian sailors in the Prabowo-Gibran government later.

"Later we will fight for the aspirations of the movement of Indonesian sailors in parliament. Because through the law, we will be able to solve everything. That is the best way, constitutional way, and it provides strong legal certainty and legal winds for all of you," said Eddy.

Eddy hopes that support from various elements of society will continue to flow to candidate pair number 2. He emphasized that support from the community is a new 'vitamin' injection for the winner of Prabowo-Gibran one round in the 2024 presidential election.

"We hope that friends of the Indonesian Seafarers Movement who come today can also increase our thrust, strengthen us on February 14 so that the votes acquired by Pak Prabowo and Mas Gibran are sufficient to win the presidential election in one round," said Eddy.

The Secretary General of PAN then revealed that his party has consistently supported Prabowo's candidacy since 2014. He saw Prabowo as a leader that Indonesia needed.

"We hope that this support will be realized on February 14 at the TPS," concluded Eddy.

Meanwhile, the head of the Indonesian Seafarers Movement for Prabowo-Gibran, Andri Sanusi, said that his party wanted candidate pair number 2 to be able to fight for the minimum wage of sailors. In addition, it can make Indonesian seafarers workers under the auspices of the Ministry of Manpower.

Andri also asked Prabowo-Gibran to pay attention to the welfare of sailors and facilitate access to funding sources for fishing groups.

"We hope that Pak Prabowo and Mas Gibran can fight for the welfare of sailors in Indonesia," said Andri.
