Indonesia's Latest Poltracking Survey: Prabowo And Anies' Electability Rises

JAKARTA - Poltracking Indonesia released data on the electability survey of pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in 2024.Paslon Prabowo-Gibran received the highest electability at 46.7 percent followed by candidate pair Anies-Muhaimin with 26.9 percent electability. Meanwhile, the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates Ganjar-Mahfud are still in a distended position with 20.6 percent electability. Executive Director of Poltracking Indonesia Hanta Yuda said that Prabowo-Gibran and Anies-Muhaimin's electability trends had increased compared to December. Where Anies-Muhaimin's electability rose 3.8 percent and Prabowo-Gibran 1.6 percent. "The decrease in electability only occurred in the Ganjar-Mahfud candidate pairs, which fell 6.7 percent," said Hanta Yuda, quoted from the official release of Poltracking, Friday, January 19. The trend of increasing and decreasing electability is influenced by various factors. One of them is the influence of Joko Widodo (Jokowi Effect). The public who are satisfied with Jokowi chose the Prabowo-Gibran pair. Meanwhile, the public who are not satisfied with their choice to Anies-Muhaimin. The survey was conducted on January 1-7, 2024 using a stratified multistage random sampling method. The sample in this survey is 1,220 respondents with a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

Survey clusters reach 34 provinces throughout Indonesia proportionally based on data on the number of the 2024 Permanent Voter List (DPT).
