98 Activist Calls Airlangga Hartarto's Capability Unfit In Government

JAKARTA - 98 activist, Barita Rickhy Ricky Tobing fully supports the steps taken by the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) to write to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the repayment of IDR 344 billion debt for the one-price cooking oil program (Rafaction) in 2022. This has been protracted in handling the cooking oil case showing that the capability of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, is not worthy of government.

Ricky Tobing, 98 activist who is also a volunteer supporting Jokowi 2019, said that Aprindo had written to Jokowi four times and the President should have been firm.

"Just fire Airlangga Hartarto because he is unable to handle this problem," said Ricky at the Prabowo Gibran winning post, quoted on Friday, January 19.

According to him, President Jokowi should not be afraid, because the people and movement activists are ready to provide support.

"We can see how the satisfaction with the Jokowi government is above 70 percent, meaning that the people have high hopes for Jokowi to resolve this issue as soon as possible," he explained.

Furthermore, he said, President Jokowi must be able to show his firmness at the end of his reign so as not to leave a burden on the next government.

Moreover, the downstream industry program will be continued by the Prabowo-Gibran presidential candidate.

"We don't want the problem of cooking oil ratios to disrupt the downstream process. This issue has entered its second year, in the same class as Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto was unable to hold mediation meetings and resolve this issue showing that Airlangga Hartarto is only a defender in Jokowi's cabinet," said Ricky.

"The dismissal of Airlangga Hartarto from the Coordinating Minister for the Economy is an accurate solution to solve this problem," said Ricky in ending the discussion.
