The Account Of The Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs Was Hacked, Here's The Response Of The Minister Of Communication And Information

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi responded to the hacking of accounts experienced by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Human Rights (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD. Budi said he was investigating the perpetrators of the hack.

"We are investigating it," said Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie at the PBNU Building, Kramat Raya, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 18.

Furthermore, Budi said, social media in the digital space has no restrictions. Therefore, he appealed to account users including ministers to maintain their personal accounts such as changing passwords regularly.

"We urge all account users to take care of it, because the digital world is unlimited," said Budi.

Budi admitted that he did not know who the perpetrators of the hacking of Mahfud MD's account were. He emphasized that his party was still conducting an investigation.

"We don't know who, who knows foreign people. We will investigate later about the account of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs," said Budi.

Previously, the Instagram account of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md @mohmahfudmd was hacked on Tuesday, January 16 afternoon. In the 12-second post, it shows a video uploaded by several soldiers carrying out a soccer header with a foreign caption.

However, not long after, Mahfud MD's account has returned to its original state. Mahfud himself responded casually and did not plan to investigate the perpetrators of the hacking of his account.

"Yes, his name was also hacked, but it was only half a day. There was only one picture that had no political value. It was like a toy person. Now it is completely under control," said Mahfud MD at the Presidential Palace complex, Central Jakarta, last Thursday.

"No, people like this already know. The government already knows that many are like this, not one who gets hit, many are affected. Many politicians, figures, are common. Naughty people," he continued.
