Bone Bolango Police Detain 5 Suspects In The IAIN Gorontalo New Student Death Case

The Bone Bolango Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim), Gorontalo Province officially detained five suspects in the case of the death of a new student at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Sultan Amai Gorontalo, while participating in a raid. The Bone Bolango Police Chief, AKBP Muhammad Alli in Gorontalo, said that his party, in this case, the Criminal Investigation Unit investigators, again made additional investigation reports (BAP) of five suspects to complete the files. "Today we are also carrying out the detention of five people who we previously named as suspects," said Muhammad Alli in Gorontalo, Antara, Thursday, January 18. All files on the handling of this case have been submitted to the Bone Bolango District Attorney's Office, but because it is considered incomplete or P19, it is returned to the Resort Police to be completed. "If it is complete or P21, then it will be handed over again and then this case will be tried immediately," he also said. For the detention process of the five suspects whose initials and identities have not been conveyed, his party is also still waiting. However, what is certain is that the detention can be carried out at the Prosecutor's Office and the Correctional Institution (Lapas). Muhammad Alli said it was possible that the number of suspects in the death of these new students would still increase. Therefore, until now his party is still continuing to deepen and develop further. The involvement of five suspects, starting today, was detained at the Bone Bolango Police Headquarters, having the role of the executive committee consisting of the coordinator of activities and the health department. "The suspects, who are still students at the IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo campus, are threatened with being charged with negligence with the threat of imprisonment for five years," said the Police Chief. Meanwhile, the victim's older brother, Mohammad Apriansyah, expressed his gratitude to the Bone Bolango Police, especially the Police Chief, who has given attention to the handling of this case. He hopes that law enforcement will be carried out in accordance with fair rules.

"We as the family support the performance of the Police Chief in handling this case. We will also continue to oversee, monitor the law enforcement process so that it can be completed to its roots," he said.
