JAKARTA - President Isaac Herzog said Israel could not currently think about peace negotiations with Palestine, lost confidence in the process of achieving it, due to the terror alluded to.

That was conveyed by President Herzog while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, with photos of Krir Bibas, a one-year-old baby who is currently still being held hostage in Gaza.

"No sane person wants to think about the exact solution to the peace agreement," he said.

"Everyone wants to know that he will not be attacked in the same way from the north, south, or east," he continued.

"Israel lost confidence in the peace process, because they saw terror being echoed by our neighbors," said President Herzog.

Furthermore, President Herzog stressed, "war is not only between Israel and Hamas."

"The world must deal with it directly: There is a criminal empire originating from Iran," he said, adding that such activities would "destroy any peace and stability process in the world."

President Herzog also said the Hamas group should be eradicated to "allow a better future for Palestinians who are our neighbors."

He went on to say, Israel is also fighting for the whole free world, and Europe and the United States are the next countries.

When asked about the day after the war, President Herzog said he envisioned a "coalition of countries willing to commit to rebuilding Gaza", in a way that would allow the safety of Israelis and Palestinians, and a different future for Gaza.

He said the coalition would consist of "strong Western forces, strong regional forces," through dialogue with Gazans and the Palestinian Authority.
