Inaugurated By President Jokowi, Arsul Sani Is Officially A Constitutional Judge

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appointed senior politician Arsul Sani to be a Constitutional Justice, during an oath-taking ceremony at the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, January 18.

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill the obligations of the Constitutional Justice as well as possible and fairly as possible. Upholding the 1945 Constitution and carrying out all laws and regulations as straight as possible according to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and serving Nusa and the Nation," said Arsul when taking the oath in front of President Jokowi.

Arsul Sani was inaugurated as Constitutional Justice based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 102 P of 2023 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Constitutional Justices proposed by the DPR. The Presidential Decree is set on October 24, 2023.

Citing the website of the Indonesian Constitutional Court, Arsul was proposed by the House of Representatives as Constitutional Justice replacing Wahiduddin Adams, who was retired because he entered the retirement age of Constitutional Justices, which was 70 years old on January 17, 2024.

Arsul, who was born in Pekalongan, January 8, 1964, was the Deputy Chair of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) before being proposed as a constitutional judge.

Arsul received primary education to high school in his hometown, then continued his education at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia.

He continued his studies by studying Master Communications at the School of Communication Science The London School of Public Relations, then completing his Doctoral education majoring in Justice & Policy at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Arsul contributes to the world of Indonesian law and politics, ranging from being active in various organizations to the Legal Aid Institute.

Not only that, Arsul's long journey as a politician has been proven by holding a number of positions in the DPR and MPR.
