Gibran Meets Village Head In Maluku, Bawaslu Calls Alleged Violations Has Fulfilled Conditions

The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Maluku Province stated that the report on the alleged violation of the vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka during the political safari in Ambon City, Monday, January 8, met the formal and material requirements. Head of Bawaslu Maluku Subair said it was confirmed after the plenary meeting conducted by Bawaslu on the report on the results of the 2024 election campaign monitoring. "After that, the results of the supervision during the Gibran political safari were fulfilled, both formal and material requirements," said Subair, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday 17 January. He explained that the report on the alleged violation would be continued by being stated in Form B2 to be later registered.Registration of the findings of the violation would be carried out for two days. After that, it was continued with an assessment for seven days. If it was deemed that it still required information data, Subair continued, then it was added to another seven days, so that the total would be 14 days. "However, we usually used seven days. Fourteen days if the data was still not sufficient," he added. Subair admitted that his party would also clarify by inviting related parties, including expert witnesses. The formal requirements of the report that have been fulfilled include the identity of the inventor, the identity of the reported person, and the reporting time did not exceed the time limit seven days after the incident. Then, the material requirements that were fulfilled were events and description of the incident, the scene, as well as witnesses who were aware of the incident and evidence. "The formal requirements and material are all already in the report from the inventor," said Subair. Meanwhile, Bawaslu Maluku member Astuti Usman added that if there were allegations of violations in the study process, then involved officials at the Integrated Law Enforcement Center (Gakkumdu) Bawaslu.

"Because this is a crime, so it is not handled by Bawaslu itself, it will involve the prosecutor's office and the police if the direction is there (finds a violation)," said Astuti. The meeting was then reported to Bawaslu because it was suspected of being an election violation.
