JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has served 13.19 million aircraft passengers at the company's managed airports throughout January 2025.
The number of passengers grew 10 per village compared to the same period the previous year.
The total 13.19 million passengers who were successfully served by InJourney Airports consisted of 9.64 million passengers on domestic routes and 3.54 million passengers on international routes.
InJourney Airports President Director Faik Fahmi said the increase in the number of airplane passengers was driven by the New Year holiday period and the long holidays of Isra Mikraj and Chinese New Year.
"InJourney Airports as the airport operator along with other stakeholders such as airlines, ground handling and AirNav Indonesia are in close collaboration to accommodate the demand for air travel which is quite passionate, so last month we were able to record an increase in the number of aircraft passengers reaching double digits," said Faik in an official statement Thursday, February 20.
Based on data from InJourney Airports, the busiest airport in January 2025 was Soekarno-Hatta Tangerang with a total of 4.71 million passengers. Then, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali with a total of 2.01 million passengers.
Then, Juanda Surabaya with a total of 1.12 million passengers. Furthermore, Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar with 788,000 passengers and Kualanamu Deli Serdang with 685.000 passengers.
According to Faik, the increase in the number of airplane passengers is also in line with the increasing number of flights.
In January 2025, continued Faik, aircraft movements at InJourney Airports airports reached 97,395 take-off and landing flights, an increase of 2 percent compared to January 2024 of 95,293 flights.
"Meanwhile, cargo transportation volume was recorded at around 113,000 tons or corrected 4 percent from the previous 118,000 tons," he said.
Faik said, this year InJourney Airports airports together with airlines and all parties in the aviation ecosystem will strengthen Indonesia's aviation connectivity, increase flight traffic, by opening new routes and increasing frequency on existing routes.
"So that it can be optimal in supporting national economic growth," he said.
