Before Investigating TPPU Firli Bahuri, Polda Metro First Completes Handling Three Allegations Of Criminal Acts

Polda Metro Jaya stated that it would investigate allegations of money laundering or money laundering involving Firli Bahuri in a series of extortion cases against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

However, investigators will focus on completing the handling of three alleged criminal acts first.

"We will finish it, we will focus on handling the a quo case against the three alleged corruption crimes that occurred," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, quoted on Wednesday, January 17.

The three alleged criminal acts are allegations of corruption in the form of extortion, receiving gratuities, or receiving gifts or promises by state officials or civil servants related to the authority of their positions.

The alleged criminal act is contained in Article 12 e or Article 12 B or Article 11 in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.

In the process of handling the three alleged criminal acts, the investigative team is still trying to complete the case files. This is because the research prosecutor assesses that there are still shortcomings, both formal and material.

In completing the case files, investigators have examined a number of witnesses, such as Syahrul Yasin Limpo; Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta; and Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono. They were questioned by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, Thursday, January 11.

Most recently, investigators also scheduled additional examinations of Firli Bahuri at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit on January 19.

When it is completed, investigators will develop or investigate the alleged money laundering offense in the case.

"Only after that will we follow up with further investigations and investigations related to money laundering," said Ade.
