JAKARTA - Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana stated that President Joko Widodo was not disturbed in responding to the discourse on impeaching the president in the midst of the 2024 election stage.
"Yes, of course, he is not too disturbed by this discourse because he is still working as usual," said Ari when met at the Ministry of State Secretariat Building, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, January 16.
Ari explained that President Jokowi is more focused on increasingly heavy government tasks and various projects that must be completed, especially in the last year of his term of office.
According to him, the discourse on impeachment is part of expressing opinions or criticism from a democratic perspective that is legal to do.
However, national interests must be prioritized so that the political situation does not get hotter and has the potential to disrupt national unity and integrity.
"So, we maintain this conducive situation so as not to create political polarization," said Ari.
In addition, the impeachment requirements must also pass a political test involving three institutions, namely the DPR RI, the Constitutional Court, and the MPR RI.
The actions taken outside of the mechanism, according to him, are unconstitutional actions.
In the midst of the discourse on revolving impeachment, Ari emphasized that public trust in President Jokowi is still quite high, above 75 percent.
Not only at the survey level, the enthusiasm of the people in the regions was also very high when welcoming the President to visit the regions and have a dialogue with them.
