Dispute Bike Paths, Community B2W Sues DKI Provincial Government In Administrative Court

JAKARTA - The Bike to Work (B2W) cyclist community sued the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN).

Chairman of B2W Indonesia Fahmi Saimima said that his party assessed that Heru Budi was considered to be malpractice related to governance in ensuring security on bicycle lanes. "We have confirmed it to the AMAR Law Firm's legal office and are currently entering the administrative process," he said in Jakarta, Monday, January 15, which was confiscated by Antara. According to him, within one year of his tenure in Jakarta, Heru has been malpractice since November 2022.

Heru is said to have cut the bicycle lane budget in November 2022, initially budgeted in the 2023 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget Draft (RAPBD) of Rp. 38 billion, then proposed to make zero (distributed). Then, another malpractice in May 2023 Heru allegedly ordered a re-paling on 18 roads. Ibu Kota under the pretext of welcoming the ASEAN Summit but by closing the existing bicycle lanes and not being returned again as before. "In October 2023, the DKI Transportation Agency dismantled the stick cone limiting the bicycle lanes on 13 bicycle lanes, the pretext of endangering other motorists," said Fahmi.

Through this lawsuit, Fahmi hopes that Heru can make improvements to a number of policies. Heru is expected to be able to take spatial planning policies by complying with the existing Jakarta 2022-2026 Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR). "The State Administrative Court (PTUN) is different from the joint lawsuit (class action or citizen lawsuit). So from the many that we have used as evidence, we hope that there will be improvements, and especially for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to return to RTRW Jakarta 2040 and the dissemination of the Jakarta RDTR 2022-2026," he said.
