Pangkalpinang And West Bangka Flood

Pangkalpinang City and West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung, were flooded due to heavy rains and high tides.

"Currently the team is still in the field helping flood victims," said Head of BPBD for the Province of the Babel Islands, Mikron Antariksa, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 15.

Heavy rains that fell from 12.00 WIB to the afternoon (15.30 WIB) caused several points in Pangkalpinang City to be flooded.

Five areas that were flooded in Pangkalpinang City, including Kampung Bintang, Kampung Katak, Gang Al Falag Air Tujuh, and Jalan Balai Kota Pangkalpinang.

"Currently, we have not received reports of flood conditions in West Bangka, because the team is still working to help flood victims in the area," he said.

The rapid reaction team is still in the field helping flood victims. Moreover, heavy rains are still happening, so the team has not been able to report the natural disaster incident.

"Currently we are compiling a report on how many residents were affected by the flood, water level and others," he said.
