Almost Successfully Bringing Away A Bag Filled With Mobile Phones, The Thief In Meruya Did Not Move When His Clothes Were Pulled By Project Workers

JAKARTA - A construction worker became a victim of the theft of a bag containing a cellphone while renovating a house on Jalan Haji Sabara, South Meruya, Kembangan District, West Jakarta. Luckily, the perpetrator of the theft was arrested by the victim.

Kembangan Police Chief Kompol Billy Gustiano Barman said the perpetrator with the initials MS was arrested after the victim caught him trying to escape with his stolen goods.

"The perpetrator with the initials MS entered the house which was being renovated. The perpetrator entered the house and then took the bag that was hanging by the victim," said Commissioner Billy when confirmed, Monday, January 15.

"When he left the house, the perpetrator's initials MS was caught red-handed by the victim while carrying his bag. At that time the victim immediately pulled his shirt out," he said.

In the action, the MS perpetrator did not work alone. He was assisted by his friend with the initials YA (DPO).

"The other perpetrator with the initials YA is currently still being chased by the police," he said.

As a result of his actions, MS was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft by weight, with the threat of a maximum prison sentence of 7 years in prison.
