TANGERANG - A total of 58 land trucks were prosecuted by the Tangerang City Metro Police for violating the rules of crossing roads that did not match operating hours.

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho said that this action was carried out with the Transportation Service (Dishub).

"Sunday, 25 trucks were taken action at the Tangerang City Main Benda Toll Exit and on Saturday there were 33 (trucks)," said Zain in his statement, Monday, January 15.

Zain emphasized that his party and the Transportation Agency will continue to guard at a number of points to prevent land trucks or sand from crossing the road outside of operating hours.

"We will take firm action for those who are stubborn. And hopefully, this community complaint can be overcome. Entrepreneurs can run their business well and smoothly, the community can be safer and more comfortable," he said.

He also appealed to all truck drivers to comply with applicable regulations according to Perwal Number 93 of 2022 and Perbup Number 12 of 2022 concerning Regulations for Restrictions on Operational Hours for Land and Sand Transport Vehicles.

"In addition to causing traffic jams, the accidents caused a lot of injuries and lives," he concluded.
