As A Witness To Relieve Firli, Yusril Is Confirmed To Be Present At The Criminal Investigation Department

BOGOR - legal expert, Yusril Ihza Mahendra will be questioned as a lightening witness or a de charge for Firli Bahuri who is a suspect in the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL. The examination is planned to take place at Bareskrim Polri, today

"God willing (present) at 10:00 WIB," said Yusri when confirmed, Monday, January 15.

The examination of Yusril Ihza Mahendra will be carried out at the Directorate of Corruption Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency.

Firli Bahuri was originally supposed to propose three mitigating witnesses. They are Prof. Romli Atmasasmita, Prof. Yusril Ihza Mahendra, and Prof. Suparji Ahmad.

The three names of mitigating witnesses have been submitted to Polda Metro Jaya investigators through a registered letter number 251/IISPA/XII/2023, dated December 20.

However, Romli Atmasasmita refused to be used as a mitigating witness on the grounds of not knowing and seeing the alleged extortion.

Therefore, Firli Bahuri's lawyer, Ian Iskadar, said that his team is currently looking for other parties who will be used as mitigating witnesses.

"We are still exploring several legal figures," said Ian.

Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22.

Several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there were also the results of the extraction of 21 cellphones.

In this case, Firli Bahuri was charged with Article 12 e or Article 12 B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
