Disturbing Order, 296 Brong Exhausts Destroyed By Banyumas Police

PURWOKERTO - Banyumas City Police (Polresta), Central Java, destroyed 296 Brong exhausts obtained in a raid conducted in the period 1-13 January 2024.

The destruction was carried out by cutting Brong exhaust using a chainsaw, after the apple and declaration of "Central Java Zero Knalpot Brong" in Purwokerto Square, Banyumas Regency, Sunday, January 14, which was attended by student representatives, the automotive community, political parties participating in the 2024 election, winning teams for presidential and vice presidential candidates, as well as various other stakeholders.

When giving a speech at the apple, the Acting (Pj) Regent of Banyumas Hanung Cahyo Saputro said the activity was carried out to realize a conducive security and public order situation (kamtibmas) in the context of peaceful elections in 2024.

"This event is the right momentum where the National Police is currently carrying out the Great Operation Brata Candi 2024 and has entered the campaign stage," he said.

Ahead of the open campaign period for the 2024 General Election, he said, in Banyumas Regency there were still many traffic violations in the form of non-standard or Brong exhaust use.

He said it was a real disturbance and had the potential to cause social conflict between party supporters and supporters of certain candidates, so it needs to be anticipated from an early age so that it does not occur in Banyumas Regency.

"Long before the implementation of this glorification, the Banyumas Police had massively carried out the Cipta Condition police activities in the form of controlling the use of non-standard exhausts or brong so that the kamtibmas in the Banyumas Regency area remained conducive and well maintained," said Acting Regent.

In this case, he said, the Banyumas Police in 2022 will take action against violations of Brong exhaust and secure evidence of 10,635 pieces.

Meanwhile, in 2023, he continued, the Banyumas Police secured 4,787 Brong exhausts and in the period 1-13 January 2024 secured 53 motorcycles and 296 Brong exhausts.

"During this period, the Banyumas Police have secured an non-standard exhaust or Brong of 31,193 pieces. This achievement has brought the Banyumas Police to be ranked first in taking action against traffic violations against the use of non-standard exhaust or brong at the Central Java Police level," he explained.

When giving a press statement after the apple and declaration, the Acting Regent appreciated the efforts of the Banyumas Police in taking action against traffic violations, especially the use of Brong exhausts.

Even long before the 2024 General Election, he said, the Banyumas Police had organized action activities against the Brong exhaust.

He hopes that the action against the Brong exhaust can provide peace for the entire community, so that the implementation of the peace election in 2024 can run well.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has set a campaign period for the 2024 General Election from 28 November 2023 to 10 February 2024, then the voting schedule on 14 February 2024.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Banyumas Police, Police Commissioner Edy Suranta Sitepu, said that starting January 21 would enter an open campaign period.

"Let's both provide education to our community not to use Brong exhaust," he said.

In taking action against the use of Brong exhaust, he said, the Banyumas Police had carried out three stages of control, namely preemptively by providing education to the public regarding Brong exhausts that were troubling the community, disturbing residents during rest, disturbing hearing, and disturbing residents who were worshiping.

Furthermore, his party carried out preventive or preventive stages by carrying out patrols targeting Brong exhaust users to be given an appeal and asked to replace them with standard exhausts.

"The third is the stage of prosecution or repression. As previously stated by the Regent when giving a mandate, for January alone we have taken action or confiscated 296 Brong exhausts," he said.

Furthermore, the Police Chief hopes that all parties agree not to use Brong exhausts, so that later when the general meeting campaign or open can give an appeal to sympathizers not to use Brong exhausts.

Thus, he said, the Banyumas Regency area became safe, comfortable, and the campaign was carried out far from using Brong exhaust.
