JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo invites Vietnamese entrepreneurs to invest in the capital city of Nusantara in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan.

This was conveyed by Jokowi while attending a business dialogue with Vietnamese entrepreneurs/investors at the Melia Hanoi Hotel, Vietnam, Saturday, which was also attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh.

"I invite you, ladies and gentlemen, to invest in the new capital city of Indonesia, the archipelago, in accordance with the expertise of each company," said the President in a press release reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 13.

On that occasion, the President also encouraged Indonesia and Vietnam to continue to strengthen the collaboration between the two countries in order to realize the vision of becoming a high-income country in 2045.

"Indonesia and Vietnam have the same vision, namely to become a high income country in 2045 and to make it happen, we need the strength of collaboration, including collaboration in the business sector," said the President.

President Jokowi explained that Indonesia has enormous carbon exchange potential, which is more than 200 billion US dollars. The carbon market, according to the President, was launched in 2023.

"I hope this CT Group can be an important part in it," he said.

Furthermore, regarding VinFast's investment in Indonesia in the electric car industry, the President hopes that the production target in 2026 can be implemented soon. In addition, the Head of State also hopes that VinFast can open collaboration with Indonesian entrepreneurs.

"I hope VinFast can also collaborate with entrepreneurs and researchers in Indonesia," he continued.

In addition, in the plan to develop areas ranging from airport infrastructure to tourism in Indonesia, the President hopes that Indonesia's cooperation with the Vietnamese company Sovico Group can be carried out soon.

The President also encouraged the number of flights by VietJet airlines to be increased towards a number of Indonesia's super priority destinations.

"Like in Labuan Bajo, in Mandalika, in Likupang, in Borobudur, and Lake Toba," said the President.
