Malaysia Urges Its Citizens To Postpone Travel To Yemen

JAKARTA - The Malaysian government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, advises all citizens to postpone non-essential trips to Yemen.

Malaysia's Foreign Ministry said the Malaysian Embassy in Muscat was closely monitoring the latest developments in Yemen following airstrikes led by US and UK military forces targeting the Houthis by January 11, 2024.

The Malaysian Embassy, according to Wisma Putra, continues to make contact with its citizens living in Yemen, most of whom are students. Their condition is safe and far from conflict areas.

However, the Malaysian government urged its citizens in Yemen to be vigilant and follow the policy and see the latest developments by the local government.

Yemen's Houthi group announced on Friday that US and British forces had launched 73 attacks on Yemen, which killed five Houthi fighters.

The US and Britain, in order to support the continuation of Israel's crimes in Gaza, have launched brutal aggression against Yemen by launching 73 attacks, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said in a statement.

Saree said that the attack targeted the capital Sana'a and the governorship areas of Hodeidah, Taiz, Hajjah and Saada.

The US and UK militaries launched a missile attack targeting Yemen's Houthis on Friday morning.
