Former Chairperson Of PWNU Riau Catut Declaration Of Support For Paslon, PBNU: Use Fake Letter Kop And Stamps

RIAU - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board criticized the former chairman of the Riau PWNU, Rusli Ahmad, for still making letters with fake letterhead and stamps on behalf of the organization for declaration of practical political support.

"The invitation letter circulating on behalf of the Riau PWNU which was signed by Rusli is invalid. PBNU considers Rusli to have committed " brutal acts" because it is still on behalf of the Chairperson of the Riau PWNU," said Deputy Chairperson of PBNU, Amin Said Husni, in his statement, Friday, January 12, quoted by Antara.

Amin said that PBNU had frozen the management of PWNU Riau Rusli Ahmad since December 2023. Instead, PBNU has appointed Deputy Secretary General of PBNU Sulaiman Tanjung to be the temporary replacement for the Chairman of PWNU Riau.

The appointment of Sulaiman is in accordance with the decision of the Syuriyah and Tanfidziyah daily meetings on December 16, 2023.

Even though he had been removed from the management, Rusli actually made an invitation letter with a fake stamp and letterhead on January 7, 2024. The letter numbered 009/PWNU-Riau/01/2023 was only signed by Rusli.

In the letter, Rusli invited the PWNU management and NU kiai to attend the declaration ceremony against the Prabowo-Gibran pair. The declaration was held on Wednesday, January 10.

"Signing the letter alone and using a letterhead and fake stamp," he said.

According to Amin, Rusli will no longer serve as Chair of the Riau PWNU since the KPU issued a list of permanent candidates for members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD).

Amin emphasized that in a political contestation, NU already has political guidelines. This political guide is the decision of the 28th NU Congress in 1989 at the Krapyak Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta.
