Prabowo Claims Not To Be Anti-Weight

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate Prabowo Subianto said he was not anti-related with the policies of the western country.

"I'm not anti-barat, I love the west. The problem is, sometimes we don't love us," Prabowo said in the Presidential Candidate Dialogue with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) at Djakarta Theater, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 12.

According to Prabowo, on several occasions, Indonesia was too dependent on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) or the World Bank to maintain economic stability.

In fact, Prabowo continued, Indonesia at that time already had a Logistics Affairs Agency (Bulog) tasked with regulating the price and availability of state food.

However, Prabowo said, when the crisis and the Indonesian economy were unstable, the IMF did not have a full responsibility to help restore the country's economy.

"We give up on the IMF. We believe that they love us, even though they do not exist. In relations between countries, there is no love; what is important is their interest. If we collapse, then there is no business for them," said Prabowo.

Therefore, reflecting on this past incident, Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia must be independent in terms of the economy and food security.

One of the programs that Prabowo will do, if elected to win the 2024 presidential election with vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is to maintain food stability, one of which is by building a food barn or foodstate.

Thus, he believes that Indonesia will become a country that can stand on its own feet without relying on any party.
