Police Arrest Perpetrators Of Persecutors Of Mental Disorders In Bali

The Head of the Ende Resort Police, East Nusa Tenggara Police arrested the perpetrator with the initials MD (23) who abused people with mental disorders (ODGJ) in Denpasar-Bali, for escaping after committing an act that threatened a prison sentence of two years and eight months. "His actions were carried out consciously, because when molesting the ODGJ, the perpetrator recorded it with a gadget up to viral on social media and received various comments condemning the disgraceful MD's actions," said Ende Police Chief AKBP I Gede Ngurah Joni Mahardika, quoted by ANTARA, January 10. When conveying the progress of the police report regarding MD's dishonorable act of molesting ODGJ in Ende City, he explained that the report was followed up by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit led directly by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ende Police, AKP Cecep Ibnu Ahmadi to Bali to arrest the perpetrators who were known to have fled to Bali. "The perpetrator was arrested on Monday January 8 in South Denpasar after information from residents in Denpasar that he was in Denpasar," he said. After being arrested, the perpetrator was temporarily detained at the Denpasar Selatan Police Office, then on Tuesday he was taken by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit and Kanit Buser of the Ende Police from the temporary detention place at the South Denpasar Police to Ende. The perpetrator was then taken to the Ende Police, Polres Ende, Polda NTT, for further investigation. "Based on the perpetrator's confession process, the incident of persecution of ODGJ was carried out for a long time, namely at November 9, 2023 at around 01.20 WITA," said the perpetrator turned on his cellphone and began recording his actions, "he said.

In the viral video, the perpetrator took steps and immediately punched the victim in the cheek so that the victim immediately fell. After the incident, the perpetrator proudly showed the video to his friends. "The perpetrator admitted that he never sent or shared the video with anyone else," said the Police Chief.
