Tornado And Landa Landslides A Number Of Locations In Sukabumi

SUKABUMI - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency said heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that occurred in Sukabumi Regency, West Java on Tuesday, (9/1) triggered landslides and tornadoes that hit a number of locations.

"There were no casualties, it's just that some of the affected residents had to evacuate and a number of public facilities were damaged," said Public Relations of the Sukabumi Regency BPBD, Sandra Fitria, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 9.

The data collected from the local BPBD for the tornado damaged a house in Batupayung Village, RT 015/005, Cimanggu Village/District.

Due to this condition, the six-sis occupants of the house could not return to their homes and had to flee to their relatives' homes.

Furthermore, the cliffs of the soil in Caringinpojok Village, RT 10/03, Caringinkulon Village, Caringin District with a length of 20 meters, eight meters high and two meters wide, covered the Cigemol Irrigation channel. However, temporary repairs have been made so that agricultural land in Caringinkulon Village still gets water supply.

The Cicalung II Bridge, which is a link between Padabeunghar Village and Sindangresmi Village in Jampangtengah District with a length of eight meters, one meter wide and three meters high, is threatened with breaking due to landslides.

According to Sandra, the tornado has been handled and emergency assistance has been handed over to disaster survivors, while for the Cicalung II Bridge TPT landslide, his party has coordinated with relevant agencies for immediate repairs.

Although the bridge can still be used, it is necessary to handle it immediately because if there is rain and the water discharge increases, the TPT will further erode and trigger further landslides.
