The Mataram City Trade Office (Disdag) said the use of identity cards (KTP) for the purchase of 3 kilograms of LPG gas (kg) in Mataram was effective as of January 1, 2024.

Head of the Basic and Important Materials Division (Bupokting) of the Mataram City Disdag Sri Wahyunida said that the timing of the implementation of the ID card to buy LPG was in accordance with the targets set by the government together with Pertamina and Hiswana Migas.

"So all bases in Mataram City must also participate in the determination of the implementation, so that the 3 kilogram LPG subsidy can be right on target," he said in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Tuesday, January 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

Sri said, to ensure that all bases have implemented the purchase of 3 kilograms of LPG with the ID card, on Wednesday (10/1) Disdag will go directly to a number of bases in Mataram City.

"We want to make sure the use of ID cards for 3 kilograms of LPG is applied 100 percent by the base," he said.

So far, he said, from the results of temporary monitoring at a number of bases such as the Karang Baru and Pagutan Regions, they have applied the purchase of 3 kilograms of LPG using an ID card.

However, for now, he continued, the process of collecting data on the target of 3 kilograms of LPG buyers is still ongoing. So go ahead, if you want to buy 3 kilograms of LPG at the highest retail price (HET) of IDR 18,000 per tube, come to the base and bring your ID card.

"So at this time we are still collecting data whether we are among those who are entitled or not to buy 3 kilograms of subsidized LPG," he said.

While alluding to the 3 kilogram LPG quota for Mataram City for 2024, Sri said, she had proposed an additional 20 percent of the 2023 quota of 18,000 metric tons (MTon) to 23,000 MTon.

Although the 1,176 MTon reserves from the 2023 quota are still remaining, Disdag still proposes 23,000 MTon in anticipation of the needs of 2024.

"It's better if we have excesses than shortcomings because we don't know what 'events' will be held in 2024," he said.
