70 Percent Alcohol Mixed Alcohol Party Kills 4 Semarang Residents, Police Intervene

The police are investigating the death of four Semarang residents allegedly due to consuming adulterated liquor (alcohol).

Semarang Police Chief Kombes Pol Irwan Anwar said the case of an alcoholic drink party that was mixed with 10 people occurred in a house on Jalan Kerapu Timur, North Semarang, Semarang City, on Thursday, January 4.

"One victim died on Friday, two on Saturday, and another on Sunday," he said in Semarang, Monday, January 8, was confiscated by Antara.

In addition, he continued, there were four other victims who are currently receiving treatment at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Semarang.

He explained that the incident began with one of the dead victims who mixed a drink with a 70 percent alcohol composition mixed with other ingredients.

"These materials were purchased online and then mixed," he said.

One person making the liquor was declared dead and the other is still being treated.

The incident, he continued, was only reported by the victim's family on Monday.

Semarang Polrestabes collaborated with the Central Java Regional Police Forensic Laboratory, he said, to examine the content in the adulterated alcoholic drink.
