TKN Prabowo-Gibran Calls The One Round Presidential Election A Must In The Midst Of Global Political Uncertainty

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) Expert Council, Budiman Sudjatmiko, said that one round of presidential elections (Pilpres) is a must in the midst of uncertainty in world geopolitical conditions in 2024.

"If we want to think strategically, indeed one round is not an option but a must," Budiman said at the Beryu-02 'Spirit Perjuangan Pilpres One Round', at the Prabowo-Gibran Volunteer Big House, Jakarta, Thursday, January 4.

The reason, continued Budiman, in 2024 there are around 50 countries that carry out elections. So according to him, the potential for global uncertainty is very high.

"Some of these countries could be the source of fire. Taiwan will have the January election, Russia will have the 2024 election, India will have the April election, the United States will have the November, UK elections at the end of 2024. I am calculating this, because there are 50 strategic countries that still don't know if they want to be directed by foreign politics," said Budiman.

In addition, said Budiman, the geopolitical aspect is also the reason why candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka must win in just one round. According to him, Prabowo has a qualified experience to continue the administration of President Joko Widodo.

"Imagine if we are condemned by history, there must be two elections, wasting time. We miss the opportunity, we are all hanged, the legacy of a large project inherited by Pak Jokowi is hanged, whose partners will change," he explained.

"This is important and in the midst of uncertainty caused by 50 electoral countries and followed by 64 percent of the world GDP will determine the leader in 2024, so the uncertainty is very high," continued Budiman.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of Indo Barometer Muhammad Qodari assessed that the one-round presidential election could save the state budget of up to Rp27 trillion. With one round, he said, the budget can be used for the benefit of the community. It can even finance the 2024 Pilkada Simultaneously.

"The data I got, the budget that can be saved is IDR 27 trillion. It can be used for education subsidies, fertilizer subsidies and others," said Qodari.

Therefore, Qodari assessed that the one-round presidential election would have a positive impact on the Indonesian nation. Moreover, various survey results show that Prabowo-Gibran's electability is far superior to the other two pairs of presidential candidates.

"To get to one round, only move 5 percent. Shifting it is caught, fellow supporters of Pak Jokowi. Second, we are wary that there is a provocation, don't be served," said Qodari.
