Tigers Muncul Di Perkebunan Warga Inhu Riau

PeKANBARU - Riau's Center for Conservation and Natural Resources (BKSDA) monitors the presence of a Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) that appears in the plantation area of a resident of Batang Cenaku District, Indragiri Hulu Regency.

Head of the Riau BKSDA Center Genman Suhefti Hasibuan confirmed the report. His party will coordinate with officers in the field at the Kerumutan Resort.

"I coordinated this incident with members in the field before taking action. Residents were asked to remain vigilant," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 4.

The protected animal is thought to be female, because it was seen by the tiger resident and a cub. The appearance of this LOreng body animal scared local residents.

Based on the information summarized, one of the local residents had recorded the moment when the two tigers appeared using a cell phone. The video that was horrendous on social media was taken from the car.

The Riau BKSDA said the appearance of the tiger was due to high rainfall, coupled with flood conditions in several areas.

"This tiger appears caused by rainy weather and floods," he said.

Genman also appealed to residents not to be alone when going to gardens or deserted forest areas. If residents accidentally meet the tiger, he said, it is hoped that they can immediately avoid it and not disturb it.
