Mardiono Calls PPP Cadres Support Prabowo-Gibran Intruder: At The Mosque Only Some Steal Sandals

Acting Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Mardiono said that his party cadres supported pair number two, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as intruders. This belief was conveyed because they had only joined for less than a year.

"So there are infiltrations everywhere. Never mind an organization. Sometimes Friday prayers at the mosque some steal sandals. So that type is everywhere," Mardiono told reporters at the High End building, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 3.

Mardiono emphasized that the problem has now been resolved because the cadres have had their membership cards revoked. "Because he doesn't understand, doesn't know about the organization. Don't know about PPP. They have only joined for seven months," he said.

He also emphasized that his cadres who defected never read the party's internal rules. So, Mardiono was quite surprised when they called his movement PPP Fighters.

"So I put it as part of the infiltration," said Mardiono.

"But thank God, because Allah still loves PPP, he shows it faster. So I am grateful that these people by Allah are shown to be even faster," he continued.

Previously, PPP cadres calling themselves PPP fighters declared support for Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election on Thursday, December 28. In fact, the party has declared support for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

The National Coordinator of PPP Fighters who is also the Deputy Chair of the PPP DPP Advisory Council, Witjaksono said support was given after filtering out people's aspirations. The debate that has been implemented by the General Elections Commission (KPU) also strengthens their steps.

"That we from PPP from young circles, kiai, ulama, from many stakeholders in PPP, stated that we support through the PPP Fighters movement to win Prabowo-Gibran one round," said Witjaksono in Jakarta, Thursday, December 28.
