Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan Allegedly Violated Campaign In Bengkulu, Bawaslu Asks For Clarification Of 3 TKD People

BENGKULU - Bengkulu General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) clarified three regional campaign teams (TKD) regarding alleged campaign violations committed by the presidential candidate, Anies Baswedan during a dialogue at the University of Hazairin Bengkulu Wednesday, December 6, 2023. The three people who have clarified are the TKD pair of presidential candidates, the Head of the Administration Section and the Head of the General Section of the University of Hazairin (Unihaz) Bengkulu. "There are two alleged violations committed by the campaign team and the implementing team during the campaign for one of the presidential candidates on one of the campuses in Bengkulu," said Bengkulu City Bawaslu Coordinator of the Division for Handling, Utilization and Violation of Disputes (Kordiv PPPS) Ahmad Maskuri in Bengkulu, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 3. There are two alleged violations based on the results of a study conducted by the campaign team and implementing activities, namely related to administrative violations related to procedures and mechanisms regarding campaigns. Allegations of violations are as if campaign attributes were found when Anies Baswedan had a dialogue with students at Unihaz Bengkulu. Based on the General Election Commission Regulation (PKPU), campaign activities in the campus area are only allowed on holidays or Saturdays and Sundays, while the implementation of the presidential candidate campaign is carried out on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. "Indeed, campaign attributes were found in the campus area and we have photos of them, besides that the campaign team that used campaign attributes we appealed to and asked to remove the campaign attributes," said Ahmad.

His party has submitted recommendations for improvement to the presidential candidate campaign team and the Bengkulu General Election Commission (KPU) so that it can be followed up.
