A total of 6 brawlers on New Year's Eve are still being secured at the Cengkareng Police Headquarters, Tuesday, January 2, 2024. The perpetrators were arrested along with sharp weapons and are still being held in detention cells.

Later, the Cengkareng Police will also summon the parents and teachers of the perpetrators if they are still in school to clarify.

However, if it is proven that someone is found to have violated the law, the Cengkareng Police will proceed according to the rules of the law. The police chief also advised parents to carry out strict supervision of their children.

"The important role of parents in supervising their children is not to involve themselves in unlawful behavior. This behavior will make it difficult for the child's parents themselves," he said.

The arrests of the 6 brawlers began with New Year's Eve which fell on Monday, January 1, 2024. The six teenagers were involved in a brawl and were arrested along with two sharp weapons of the type of sickle and corbek.

Head of Samapta Polres Metro West Jakarta, AKBP M Hari Agung Julianto, said the six suspects were arrested on Jalan Daan Mogot, West Jakarta. The arrests began when the West Jakarta Metro Police TPPP team received complaints from the public regarding teenagers who were in groups and carried out brawls.

After receiving the complaint, the team moved quickly to the location in question. The TPPP team found six teenagers equipped with two sharp weapons in the form of sickles and a corbek.

"This arrest is an effort by the police to maintain security and security and prevent actions that can threaten the security of the community," he said.
