This Morning, 193 RTs In Jakarta Were Flooded, Some Up To 1.8 Meters

JAKARTA - Rain has flushed several areas in DKI Jakarta with moderate to heavy intensity since Friday, February 19 night. As a result, floods inundated several areas.

The DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that today as of 06.00 Western Indonesia Time, 193 RTs (Neighbourhood Association) were flooded.

"Overall, as many as 193 RTs out of a total of 30,470 RTs were affected, with the percentage of affected RTs of 0.633 percent," said Acting Head of Jakarta BPBD, Sabdo Kurnianto in his statement, Saturday, February 20.

In detail, as many as 29 RWs (Community Association) were affected in South Jakarta. Consisting of 44 RT, with a height of 40 to 150 centimeters, and there are 7 families of refugees with a total of 19 inhabitants.

Meanwhile, in East Jakarta there are 50 RWs affected, consisting of 143 RTs, with a height of 40 to 180 centimeters, and 372 families with a total of 1,361 people being displaced. Also, in West Jakarta, a number of 4 RWs and 6 RTs were affected.

"The number of refugees throughout DKI is 379 families with a total of 1,380 people," he said.

In addition, a number of areas still affected are due to the high rainfall and overflows of Ciliwung River, Krukut River, and Pesanggrahan River in South Jakarta, as well as the overflow of PHB Sulaiman, Sunter River, Cipinang River in East Jakarta," said Sabdo.

As for BMKG predictions today, there is the potential rain that can be accompanied by lightning or strong winds in the areas of South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta during the day and night.

In West Jakarta, light rain is predicted in the morning, heavy rain from day to night, and cloudy in the early morning. In Central Jakarta, it is predicted that it will experience light rain in the morning, moderate rain in the afternoon, light rain in the evening, and in the early morning it will be cloudy.

In South Jakarta, it is predicted that it will experience moderate rain in the morning, heavy rain in the afternoon, moderate rain at night, and in the early morning it will be cloudy. In East Jakarta, it is predicted that it will experience moderate rain in the morning, lightning rain in the afternoon, moderate rain in the evening, and in the early morning it will be cloudy.

In North Jakarta, light rains are predicted throughout the day. Meanwhile, in the Kepulauan Seribu, it will rain lightly in the morning until night and in the early morning, it will be light rain.
