Police Disbursed The Results Of Investigations On The Alleged Practice Of Guarding Hundreds Of Dogs In Sragen

SRGEN Polres Sragen made efforts to accelerate the investigation regarding the alleged practice of targeting dog slaughter in the Sragen area. This was conveyed by the Sragen Police Chief AKBP Jamal Alam Dalam, after carrying out an investigation into the complaint report regarding the alleged dog slaughter that was sent from outside the area to the Sragen area.

The investigation was carried out by the Sragen Police Criminal Investigation Unit along with the complainant, after a video of a truck carrying hundreds of dogs passing on the Palimanan toll road, Cirebon, West Java, went viral on social media.

According to the complainant, hundreds of dogs in the truck are expected to be taken to the Soloraya area slaughterhouse, especially in the Gemolong Sragen area, which is still a big question mark.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sragen Police, AKP Wikan Srikadiyono, said the reporter was named Kristian Adi Wibowo, a resident of Bogor, West Java. He came to the Sragen Police Station on Sunday, December 24, 2023.

After Adi made a complaint, the Resmob team was immediately deployed at that time to conduct an investigation at a location suspected of being used as a dog slaughterhouse in Gemolong. And it turned out that, and from the results of the investigation, the team and the complainant found nothing.

"From the complaint report, an investigation has been carried out which is suspected to be a place for dog slaughtering. The investigation was carried out by the Resmob team together with the complainant (Adi). There we found the house suspected of being the place for the dog slaughtering. After being checked, either in the house or around the house, there were no dog slaughterhouses found, or dog-carrying vehicles as reported in the complaint," said AKP Wikan in a written statement, Friday, December 29.

"From the results of the investigation, neither the complainant nor the Resmob team of the Sragen Police have clarified the residents of Gemolong. That the Sragen Police and the complainant did not find a dog that was suspected of being bought or slaughtered or slaughtered to take the meat from the Sragen area. Or the vehicle carrying hundreds of dogs that went viral on social media, "said AKP Wikan.

Furthermore, according to AKP Wikan, regarding the viral video as reported by Adi, he could not confirm that the vehicle was only referring to Sragen.

The truck loaded with hundreds of dogs had already been followed by the complainant (Adi), but he lost track because the truck exited the Gondangrejo toll road, which could not only lead to Sragen. However, it did not rule out the possibility of Solo, Boyolali or Karanganyar.

"If the Gondangrejo toll exit is not only towards Sragen, but is actually closer to Solo, Boyolali or Karanganyar. In the Sragen area, apart from conducting an investigation together with the Sragen Police, the Sragen Police have also coordinated with the relevant agency's offices, and until this investigation is still being carried out, no animal slaughterhouses were found, especially dogs in Sragen," said Wikan.

AKP Wikan ensured that the Sragen Police Criminal Investigation Unit continued to investigate the alleged dog possession case.

So far, six locations have been indicated to practice dog slaughter. However, from the six locations we have investigated, there has been no practice of selling dog meat, "explained Wikan.
